The 21st Gdańsk Shakespeare Festival will be preceded by an international biennial conference of European Shakespeare Research Association.

The conference is coorganised by the University of Gdańsk and the Gdańsk Shakespeare Theatre. The overall theme of the conference is: ‘Shakespeare and European Theatrical Cultures: AnAtomizing Text and Stage’. The event will be held on 27-30 July 2017 in Gdansk.

The conference panelists and participants will have an opportunity to participate in the festival. We believe that our programme will meet with the interest of the researchers which will result in academic analisis and studies.  Moreover, we plan to renew our Critics Corner meetings which are open debates about festival performances, exclusively in English.
