TEFILIN

SzekspirOFF / PERFORMANCE / 30MIN / 18+

The show is a manifesto. The show is a combination of performance, monodrama and the Obstruction movement technique. It tells the history of people excluded from society for reasons of religion, orientation or gender. The main inspiration for the show is Shylock’s famous monologue from Act III of Shakespeare’s “The merchant of Venice”: “Hath not a Jew eyes? hath not a Jew hands, organs, dimensions, senses, affections, passions? Fed with the same food, hurt with the same weapons, subject to the same diseases, healed by the same means, warmed and cooled by the same winter and summer, as a Christian is?”
