The students of Shanghai Oceans University will present a Chinese Classical Dance etiude, before the performances of “Shakespeare Shake” by Chinese SISU group as part of ShakespeareOFF.
“Clouds in the Forbidden City” dance programme will be presented on 3rd August at 16:45 and 4th August at 18:15, outside the TwO Windows Theatre.
The fluttering fans, swaying skirts, twisting waists and smart breath realize the convergence of elegant, graceful, powerful meaning of Chinese traditional dance vividly, showing the inheritance and development of modern youth to traditional dance.
Shanghai Ocean University(SHOU) is a multi-disciplinary applied research-based institution of higher education jointly established by Shanghai Municipal People’s Government, State Oceanic Administration and the Ministry of Agriculture. In September, 2017, it was selected by Ministry of Education into the ‘Double First-Class Initiative’ program for its First-Class Discipline of aquaculture. imPerfect Dancers Company is pleased to offer to the people of Gdansk this unique workshop. This workshop consists of a journey through pieces of the company’s repertoire. The class implements a movement-game of short phrases that are involving the basics of Matteini-Broeckx’s choreographic language. The intention of this game is that all the participants find a way how to transform their limitations into abilities, exploring the emotional side of one’s being.

Artistic Director and Co-choreographer
Ina Broeckx (born 2 June 1971), a native of Belgium, graduated from the Royal Ballet School, Antwerp (Belgium) and has danced with internationally renowned companies such as the Nederlands Dans Theater II, the Centre Chorégraphique National de Tours, Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo, the Opéra National de Lyon and the Fondazione Nazionale della Danza – Compagnia Aterballetto. During her career, she has been fortunate enough to dance in works by world-famous choreographers, including Balanchine, Jirí Kilián, Hans Van Manen, Mats Ek, William Forsythe, Angelin Preljoçaj, Nacho Duato, Ohad Naharin, Paul Lightfoot, Itzik Galilli, Jacopo Godani, Maguy Marin, John Alleyne, Karole Armitage, Claude Brumachon and many Others.
