A Midsummer Night’s Dream

Duration: 80 min

According to the Athenian tradition, the Moon has to be full for the marriage of the Duke and the Queen. But the Queen is impatient and therefore asks for help from the King of the Fairyland but the lord and his wife are arguing over an Indian changeling boy…

This vivid, dynamic production, based on the conventions of circus, is full of theatrical magic and it surprises us with its scenic ideas and its game with conventions. The world of fairy-tales is governed by different rules from the world of humans. The acrobatics of the actors, Puck in particular, seem to defy the laws of gravity. Each scene astonishes us and the audience looks upon these enchantments with bated breath.

“Our concern was to create a language and behavior for characters, which should neither be classic nor colloquial. (…) We focused on creating a primitive language, which should not be weird but take the form of the play and we had finally been successful.”
