The Gdańsk Shakespeare Festival has received EFFE Label 2017 – 2018 granted by „Europe for Festivals, Festivals for Europe” Platform, this time as a “Remarkable Festival”. Jury explains:

The 21st edition of Gdańsk Shakespeare Festival will take place from July 28th to August 6th 2017.  It will be preceded by an international biennial ESRA Congress 2017, organised by European Shakespeare Research Association, this time in Gdańsk , in partnership with the Gdańsk Shakespeare Theatre and the University of Gdańsk.

The 21st Gdańsk Shakespeare Festival will be preceded by an international biennial conference of European Shakespeare Research Association. The conference is coorganised by the University of Gdańsk and the Gdańsk Shakespeare Theatre. The overall theme of the conference is: ‘Shakespeare and European Theatrical Cultures: AnAtomizing Text and Stage’. The event will be held on 27-30 July 2017 in Gdansk.
